At exactly noon today, Travis, Jeremy, Silvana, Sinika, Dylan, Emory, and Lili took off from Logan airport. They headed to sunny Puerto Rico where they will meet up with the rest of their group: Leah, Emily, Tia, and Charlie. We just received word that the group has landed safely and are headed to baggage claim as I write this.
The weather in San Juan is currently 88 degrees and sunny - beautiful!
After all the students arrive in Puerto Rico, the group will head to the Oceana Beach Inn in San Juan to get settled in. This is where they will be staying tonight and tomorrow night while getting to know each other, doing orientation activities, and exploring Old San Juan.

Meet Your Leaders!
Travis Rubury
Travis is really excited to be returning to Windsor Mountain as a Student Travel Leader. He has worked at the base camp for the past three years, moving from Art Department to Waterfront to Wilderness Tripping Staff. Travis has traveled throughout his life, to countries including Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Brazil, and Japan. After graduating Bard College with a degree in fine art photography last May, Travis spent the summer and fall working, playing, and learning at Windsor Mountain. After leaving camp, he spent the remainder of the fall rock climbing throughout the east coast. Travis was busy traveling throughout the winter and spring. He spent two months in Vancouver, Canada, working for NBC's TODAY Show for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The next three months were spent journeying through India and Thailand. These travels combined Travis' love for food, rock climbing, exploring, and photography into one giant adventure. He can't wait to share his love of traveling and exploring new places with the students of Bridge Puerto Rico!
Leah Boch
After working in the Wilderness Tripping Department last summer, Leah is excited to be joining the Travel Staff this year. Leah's love for travel started when she was a camper at Windsor Mountain and a fellow camper from Belgium invited her to spend three weeks traveling in Belgium and France. Not speaking a word of French, Leah realized how important language was and decided to spend her junior year of high school in Spain with School Year Abroad to master the Spanish language. Since then, the travel bug has stayed strong. During college, Leah spent time working and studying in Chile, Costa Rica, and Brazil. After having fallen in love with the pace of life in Costa Rica, she recently decided to return and spend six months in Monteverde, where she was an assistant teacher at the Cloud Forest School. When she wasn't teaching, she filled her afternoons by climbing strangler figs, brushing up on her Spanish, attempting to dance salsa, and perfecting her gallo pinto (rice and beans) recipe, which she is excited to share with the Bridge Puerto Rico group!
